Hey everybody, last year my neighbor was found stabbed 38 times by her ex-boyfriend - punctured in every major organ except her heart. During the attack he had kicked & broke her ribs, relentlessly stabbed her, and left her to die bleeding out on a popular biking trail. He slashed her tires to inhibit her from driving to get help and then fled. Miraculously, she survived the attack.

Now, a year later, she's still trying to recover. After being in a coma for months, she's facing new challenges such as learning to walk again, DV legal matters, and requiring surgeries that aren't covered by her insurance just to name a few. She has been receiving assistance from the Victims of Crime Compensation Fund, but that has been capped out and she still has a very long road ahead of her.

You can read more details about her case but i believe her name is being withheld due to the DV proceedings - If you are able to donate even a little that would be monumental. Once fully recovered she also plans to work with and raise awareness for domestic abuse survivors. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this - maybe someone else can!

wonder what would have happened if she was a man?

flowerlygirls

dont take my word for it because i do not remember clearly but i think there was a longer text too, where it was made clear that at a certain point the women began protecting her from the men.

that men were the ones hurting her and the women were mostly like putting lipstick of her braiding her hair or other silly harmless stuff, and then when the men began escalating it, the women in the audience began fighting them off for her and covering her up and comforting her

so much for "humanity" being cruel to "all people". more like men wnjoying dehumanizing and humiliating women for their pleasure

ms-hells-bells

i recall that too.

something that is rarely mentioned in these snippets and coverage of this project is that not only did a man try to get her to shoot herself but people (mostly women) stopped him, a man outright tried to rape her right there, but people (mostly women) stopped him.

this exhibition has recently resurfaced and has many articles about it from 2023, so it's difficult to find older articles that better mention the gendered aspect, all the recent ones say 'people' and 'humanity'. this just shows how the attempt to make perpetrator and victim gender neutral in all situations for 'equality' obfuscates even actually occurring events, not just concepts.

If you identify as female, why are you taking the perspective of a male?

‘if art makes anyone uncomfortable it’s bad art’ is a hell of a take, too

👏👏👏👏

as someone else pointed out in the comments: men are the ones murdering and assaulting TW... so why DON'T you share women's anger towards men?

bingus-terfus

Notice also how he thinks women's anger specifically is bad, especially when it's personal anger. Those women, to him, do not deserve to express individuality at all, their own individual subjective personal feelings are not acceptable unless they frame them as the feelings of a group that includes him. This is very classic male discomfort and fear of women having separate identities.

The world is full of men being called 'complex' for expressing not just personal but very twisted feelings in their art. Anger at women, at God, at society, at nature, at whatever the hell they want to be angry at. Often without justification, or in a situation where they deserve at least as much anger if not more being directed at them. And everyone is like 'look at this mysterious complex tortured psyche how *mystical* how *artistic*' but God forbid women express a personal rage at men.

Gee, an oppressor who feels "threatened" when the people he oppresses get angry and talk about it lol not surprising.

If he’s not a man why does he care what women have to say about hating men? If he didn’t think he was a man why would he think that includes him by default. Men are fucking dumb

Nature does not need reminders. It needs no coercion. When men say women are naturally submissive and meant to follow their lead, it is a lie. I know because I do not want to submit. It is not in my nature to defer to men, and it isn't in yours either. If it was, men wouldn't need to constantly remind us of our place beneath them. They wouldn't have to artificially create circumstances in which women feel they have no other choice but to submit to men.

oftentimes, what people call “toxic #girlboss feminism” is just women having professional goals

consensus in the notes of this post and similar ones + my askbox is:

• I am endorsing sweatshops run by women

• I am endorsing unfair labor practices if perpetrated by women

• I support MLMs

• I think margaret thatcher had girl power

you really hit all the bases with this one guys keep it coming

"separatism/anti-natalism is so unrealistic. it won't fix the problem." okay and marrying men worked? bearing their children worked? educating them worked? transing your gender worked? did the patriarchy stop when you wore eyeliner "sharp enough to kill a man"? did it stop when you got a mastectomy? did it come to a screeching halt when you said "sex work is work" and "not all men"? bffr

hadesoftheladies

fyi, prostitution, femininity, marriage and motherhood have been institutions of the patriarchy for CENTURIES. i promise you that being a kind mother, a skilled whore, a good daughter, a pretty girl or a loving wife will not change him--not your son, boyfriend, husband, brother, etc. if the love, beauty, kindness and patience of women could change men, we wouldn't still fucking be in this mess.

they are all completely unmoved and unbothered.

WAKE UP!!!!

yall. TX, MS, and LA. states that fucking love prison labor. states that will cost u hundreds in court fees even if you’re eventually let off or found innocent. and setting this precedent before an election season we know damn well is going to cause civil unrest. 🤑🤑🤑
